Hosted by IACFS/ME
October 22- 25, 2025 Virtual Research and Clinical Conference

ME Research UK is proud to announce its sponsorship of the IACFS/ME virtual poster competition at the forthcoming Oct 2025 IACFS/ME Conference. 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the foundation of ME Research UK – a charity dedicated to investing in, informing, and influencing ME/CFS research globally. The charity views sponsorship at the world’s premier ME/CFS conference as a fitting way to mark a quarter century of vital funding for research with the poster competition helping to equip the next generation of researchers with the skills they need to succeed.
WHO is eligible to enter the competition?
Early career researchers, students and trainees. Early career researchers are considered to be those within the first 10 years post-PhD/ doctoral award (or part-time equivalent, and excluding career pauses such as parental leave, chronic illness/ disability). If you have any questions, please contact us at iacfsmeorg@gmail.com.

This virtual poster competition aims to hone the communication and synthesis skills of ME/CFS researchers of the future. Three (3) cash prizes, sponsored by ME Research UK, will acknowledge excellence in Visual Impact, Research Insight, and Research Communication. Winners will be announced during the last day of the conference on October 25, 2025.
WHERE will the competition take place?
It will take place online using the platform Virtual Poster Sessions. To see what the virtual platform looks like, click here. Presenters and attendees used this platform successfully at our 2021 Conference.
WHEN will the competition occur?
October 22 - 25, 2025, between 9 AM and 3 PM New York City (USA) time
HOW do I enter the competition?
1. Submit your research abstract to the 2025 IACFS/ME Conference through this link by May 19, 2025, 5 PM New York City (USA) time.
On the submission form, you can indicate your preference for an oral or poster presentation. Final decisions regarding allocation to oral presentation or poster competition will be made by the Abstract Review Committee and will depend on the number of submissions, speaking slot availability, suitability for poster presentation, and the quality/ subject of your work.
2. If your work is accepted for poster presentation, please confirm you will be attending the conference.
In late June or July, all submitters will receive an e-mail indicating acceptance or non-acceptance of their work as an oral or poster presentation. You will be asked then to a) confirm you will be attending the conference and b) if your work is selected for poster presentation, whether you want to enter the competition.
3. Be prepared to share your poster 10 days before the conference (by October 13) for evaluation by the judges and be “present” to answer any questions during the virtual live poster sessions on October 23 and 24.
